Dave's Country Style Ribs
pork country style ribs
"rub"
salt, pepper, granulated garlic powder
BBQ sauce
Par-boil ribs in a large pot. Usually cooking for about 1 hour. Add salt and pepper while ribs are simmering and a tablespoon of granulated garlic powder.
Remove ribs from water. Cover them with the "rub" recipe and place on charcoal grill (for best results) or they can be cooked in the oven.
If cooking in oven, place ribs in a cooking pan, with a small amount of water in it. Cover ribs and cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove cover and baste heavily with BBQ sauce. Cook for about 5 minutes more. Serve
If grilling, use the same method of cooking for approx. 20-30 minutes, then baste ribs with sauce and serve.
"Rub"
dry mustard, granulated garlic, mesquite flavor spice, cayenne, a small amount of sage.
Note: There are several "rubs" available in the grocery store. We have tried several and each one has been satisfactory. You can also experiment with this item, and make it your own special flavoring. Enjoy!
